Splattered Shoe Commission
Splattered Shoe Commission
I gave this beat pair of GATs another life by covering them in paint allowing the original wear and character of the shoes to remain part of the finished piece.
Every pair is done by hand, so no two will ever be exactly the same.
I am opening this process to other pairs as a custom service. Purchasing this listing places a $50 deposit toward your own paint-splattered shoes. The deposit is applied to the final cost of the project.
There are two ways to begin:
Send your own shoes
You can send an existing pair you would like altered. The shoes must be clean, dry, and structurally suitable for the work. Different materials accept paint differently, so I will confirm that the pair will work before I begin.
Shipping to me and return shipping are paid by the buyer. Please use tracked shipping. Insurance is also recommended for valuable or difficult-to-replace shoes.
Have me source the shoes
If you would like me to find and purchase a new or specific pair, I will confirm the shoes, size, price, and availability with you first. The full cost of the shoes and any sourcing or shipping costs must be paid before I purchase them.
After purchasing the deposit, I will contact you to confirm the shoes, size, colors, general direction, shipping details, estimated timeline, and final project cost.
Once I have accepted the project and we have agreed on the direction, the deposit is non-refundable because it covers the time spent planning and preparing the work. If I am unable to accept the commission, the deposit will be refunded. If I am unable to complete the work after receiving your shoes, I will contact you to arrange their return and refund any payment made toward unfinished work.
The remaining balance must be paid before work begins. The timeline begins once I have the shoes, the direction has been confirmed, and the full balance has been received.
The shoes pictured are examples of previous work and are not included with this deposit. Paint placement, colors, texture, and the finished appearance will naturally vary based on the shoes and their existing condition.
Painted shoes are still meant to be worn. The finish may naturally crease, scuff, fade, or change with use, becoming part of the life of the finished piece.
Because every pair is made specifically for the person commissioning it, the finished work is final sale once work begins, except where the finished piece is materially different from what was agreed upon or where otherwise required by law.
Questions or commission ideas may be sent to chien@becomethecreative.com before purchasing.
