What is ch'ien?
ch'ien is a market and community built around clothing, objects, art, books, collectibles, and the people behind them. It started with my own closet and has grown from there.
What makes ch'ien different?
I am keeping ch'ien curated and small on purpose. I look at the people, work, and pieces before they go up. I would rather grow it slowly than fill the site just to make it look bigger.
Are all items authentic?
Everything is described as honestly as I can. If I know about a flaw, repair, alteration, or uncertainty, it goes in the listing.
If you want another photo or detail before buying, ask.
Are items new or used?
Most market pieces are pre-owned, collected, handmade, one-of-one, or otherwise not standard new retail inventory.
Read the individual listing for the exact condition and details.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are generally processed within 3–7 business days.
You’ll receive tracking information as soon as your order ships.
What is your return policy?
Because many pieces are vintage, pre-owned, handmade, limited, or one-of-one, all sales are final unless required otherwise by law or the item received was materially misrepresented.
Material misrepresentation means the item received is substantially and objectively different from the photographs or description provided at the time of purchase. Buyer’s remorse, fit, personal preference, minor color differences, normal pre-owned wear, and disclosed or reasonably visible imperfections do not qualify.
Contact ch'ien within three calendar days of confirmed delivery through the Contact page or at chien@becomethecreative.com. Include your order number, a written explanation, and clear photographs showing the issue.
Do not return an item without written authorization. Approved resolutions may include a return for refund, partial refund, replacement where available, store credit when accepted by the customer, or another mutually agreed resolution. This policy does not limit any rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
How do I know if something will fit?
Measurements are provided whenever possible.
We recommend comparing the measurements to a similar item you already own rather than relying solely on the tagged size.
What are “ego prices?”
Some items come directly from my personal collection.
“Ego prices” represent pieces I’m still emotionally attached to. If someone values them enough to purchase them, I’m happy knowing they’ll continue their story somewhere else.
Can I become a Community Member?
Yes. Use the Community Member Application to tell me a little about yourself and what you want to share. I read the applications one by one.
How do Community Members sell?
Once accepted, members send their product information and photos to ch'ien. I review the listing and put it together before anything goes into the Community Market.
How are Community Members paid?
Members receive payouts according to the Seller Agreement and Payout Schedule provided after acceptance into the community.
